How to plan your engagement session at Grand Central

Grand Central Terminal is one of New York’s most recognizable landmarks and spots for engagement pictures. The main hall is obviously the most famous location but there are endless nooks and crannies around the terminal that are also ideal for pictures.

It is generally best to schedule your session for a weekend morning. That way, you’re still getting some crowds and action in the background, but it won’t be packed like on a weekday.

The second best time to shoot there would be in the evening, after most of rush hour has cleared.

The crosswalk leading to the entrance on 42nd street is excellent for some walking shots in addition to to the crosswalk on 40th street leading up to the Park ave viaduct.

42nd street is awesome for outdoor photos, in the early mornings and late evenings the sun can often shine up or down the street, creating incredible light for pictures. Pictured below.
