A Wedding Proposal With Tropical Vibes In Natural Falls State Park In Oklahoma
Oklahoma might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a wedding proposal with tropical vibes. But that’s the beauty of Natural Falls State Park in northeastern Oklahoma, right across the border from Siloam Springs and Northwest Arkansas. One thing to note, if you are going to book a sunset shoot in this park, have it start 30-45 minutes earlier than you think. The bottom of the park and waterfall area gets dark much earlier than the other parts and if you schedule a shoot for sunset you will not have enough light down there!
That’s the spot Joseph chose to propose to Sierra! We planned it for a few weeks before the actual date and decided that a portrait shoot disguised as a surprise proposal was the way to go. Joe wanted up close photos and that’s the best plan to get them. He told Sierra he had planned a date night and wanted to start it with a couples shoot. I met them in the parking lot and started the shoot just like any other. When we got to the bottom of the park with the falls in the background I asked Sierra for a few solo shots that she could use for headshots. I guided her to look away to give Joe time to take out the ring and get down on one knee. Once he was ready I backed away and let the magic happen. It was beautiful! After the YES, we hung out in the park and did a few more portraits to celebrate.
