Find the perfect venue
Looking for a venue in Mystic for your wedding? Mystic is one of Connecticut’s best locations when it comes to both day trips and weddings. It’s pretty hard to beat the natural beauty of the village and its surrounding area and history. There’s plenty of venues for couples with different styles, anything from waterfront venues to vineyards and mansions.
Where is Mystic exactly?
Mystic is a small town on Long Island Sound in southeast Connecticut. It’s mostly known for its downtown scene and of course, the aquarium! It’s a hugely popular tourist destination and receives hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. For this article, I am focusing on the greater Mystic area, or about 30 minutes from the downtown area. Scroll down to learn more about my favorite venues in and around Mystic!

Saltwater Farm Vineyard
Saltwater Farm Vineyard is both known for its award winning wines and its stunning location on the Connecticut shoreline. With indoor and outdoor spaces available, the gorgeous indoor event space boast rich wood furnishings, a polished floor, stone accents, and an all around warm, welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor spaces are equally fantastic, beautifully manicured gardens and of course, the vineyard.
Kingdom of the Hawk
This is Saltwater Farm Vineyards’ sister property. It is located a few minutes northeast of Mystic, near North Stonington on the border with Rhode Island. With it being more inland, the landscapes are different and less on the shore. Kingdom of the Hawk is slightly smaller and perfect for anything from intimate gatherings to mid-sized weddings.
The Inn at Mystic
The Inn at Mystic is probably the most well known wedding venue in the area. It’s been serving couples and other guests for over 50 years. When I think about a classic New England summer wedding, The Inn at Mystic comes to mind. It is just that simple!
The Hounds
Arguably the most unique venue name on this list. The Hounds is an ideal wedding venue for couples who want a nautically themed wedding around the saltwater marsh, but don’t want to go full nautical! The venue is located a couple of minutes north of Stonington and about ten minutes east of Mystic. They can host up to 200 guests year round!
Mystic Yachting Club
Another venue that comes to mind when I think of the quintessential New England waterfront wedding is the Mystic Yachting Club. The venue offers both reception-only rentals in addition to ceremonies, so couples can have everything under one roof, or do a church ceremony, followed by a reception on the water. Prices start at around $140 per guest, with additional fees for ceremonies.
Mystic Seaport Museum
Did you know that one of the main attractions of Mystic also hosts weddings? The Mystic Seaport Museum is right on the banks of the Mystic River and can take between 75-200 guests, depending on which event space you decide on. Not only is the museum itself amazing for photos, but also very close to some of the most picturesque location in Mystic.
Eolia Mansion
A little bit to the west of Mystic is Eolia Mansion, in Harkness Memorial State Park. This venue is ideal for couples who want that luxury look and feel for less than what those venues usually cost. The venue is owned and operated by the state of Connecticut which makes it more affordable. Couples can have their wedding ceremony on the lawn in front of the mansion, followed by photos in the botanical garden and reception on the covered patio.
Branford House
Last but not least is another mansion on the water. Branford House is also owned and operated by the state, which also makes it more affordable. The house is huge, and again, super ideal for couples who want a mansion wedding on somewhat of a budget.
