An energetic Mexican wedding at The Nest at Prairie Creek in Rogers, Arkansas
I had been excited to shoot this one for a long time. Audrey and Roberto booked with me at a bridal expo in Bentonville and I really fell for their energy and love for each other. As soon as spring came I drove up to their venue, The Nest at Prairie Creek to get a better feel for the light and designate some potential spots for portraits. The Nest was high up on the list of wedding venues in Northwest Arkansas I wanted but hadn’t yet shot at.
What I really love about The Nest (aside from that most of the venue is outdoors) is it really utilizes everything on the property. It is designed so that you can photograph in multiple outdoor spaces that look different but are just a few steps away. That was really great for a warm July wedding day.
We started with a few getting-ready photos with Audrey along with some portraits of Roberto on the balcony.
Right before the ceremony, we had a gorgeous first look and private vow reading in front of the newly renovated front door.
The ceremony featured live music, a Lazo rope ceremony performed by their close friends, and unity candles, lit by their families.
As soon as they kissed and walked back up the aisle, mariachi music started playing and a beautiful band emerged from the house.
A detail I really loved: the little notes from Audrey’s 4th graders! So cute!
Audrey and Roberto greeted everyone before the cake cutting and the first dance which was followed by a bull dance and colored confetti flying all over.
We made sure to make a little time for a few wedding portraits before the night was over! They really emphasized that they mostly wanted candid wedding photography during our pre-wedding meetings and I feel we did just that. Congratulations again, Audrey and Roberto!
